An increasingly popular option for vapers when choosing an e-juice is nicotine salts, normally referred to as nic salts or simply salts.

Without getting too science-y, a nicotine salt is simply a different chemical composition of nicotine that just so happens to be chemically more similar to the nicotine that comes out of smoked tobacco than traditional nicotine added to vape juice.

Like regular vape juices, nicotine salt juices can be premixed in 10ml bottles (for the UK and European markets) or come in shot bottles which can be added to larger bottles of e-liquid to give them a nicotine kick.

Unlike regular pre-mixed bottles, pre-mixed nic salt juices normally come in strengths of 5, 10 and 20 mg, or 0.5, 1 and 2 percent nicotine.

They don't make juice taste salty, either! They actually are easier on the throat for many vapers, while delivering a quicker hit of nicotine to the brain.

Thus, salts are a great option for vapers who find their favourite e-juice a bit hard on their throats, and/or for vapers who only get to use their vapes during smoking breaks at work.

Increasingly, e-juice makers are adding salt options to their product lines, meaning you can get your favourite flavours in both traditional nicotine and nicotine salt versions.
